Dad's Sad

Dad didn't win either of those awards at the Catholic Press Conference. It's Ok Dad--we like your book and you're the best writer I know. But from where I sit it's not all bad news. The good news is that he's coming home tomorrow. Ohboyohboyohboy! We'll get to play all day long! He'll want to come and cuddle up with me too because he's sad--not that that's a good thing, but I'm a big comforter. I'm probably a 9 on the Enneagram which states that I am:

Optimistic, reassuring, supportive: have a healing and calming influence—harmonizing groups, bringing people together: a good mediator, synthesizer, and communicator.

How much do I love my Daddy?

Just watch:

The best part of the video is when Dad changes channels like this is the normal state of affairs in our home. Well, it kinda is, this happens every night in our house. Dad thinks it's because he wears a baseball hat and it makes his head sweaty and therefore it tastes good but that doesn't explain why I like licking his face too! I give mommy kisses too but not like I kiss dad! It's a good thing that Dad kind of likes this. Mom has started to say that I get more action than she does. Which isn't true! I don't know anyone who is a more devoted husband than dad is to mom

Oh well...who knows why I do this? Daddy saved me from the shelter so perhaps it's me feeling indebited? Or maybe I have dad issues since mine just wasn't around? Maybe it's because I hate other dogs and instead choose to pour more affection on humans?

Is there a doggie therapist in the house?

Proud of Dad

Dad spoke in front of 500 members of the faculty and staff at St. John's University at the famed Carnessecca Hall on Millennial Young Adults. What a great response! There was a student panel too and they all confirmed what dad had to say about them. Hopefully that translates into book sales.

Dad's off to Toronto for the Catholic Press Association conference and his book, Googling God is up for two different awards: Best Ministry Book and First Time Author. Hopefully he'll bring home one of the two. I miss him when he's gone but if he wins, I'll be extra proud!

Dog Bigots

My co-op has erected these signs all around the perimiter of the buildings that are part of the co-op. The funny thing is that dogs ARE allowed in the building--obviously--I live here. In fact you can have two dogs. Mom and Dad are smart in only having me---one, because I don't like other dogs and two, because I'm more than enough for anyone.

But this really makes me growl. No Dogs Allowed! How do you think that makes me feel? Dad and I took this picture near the sign. We took it with a camera phone so it's a little blurry and you can't tell, but I'm giving the sign the middle claw.

I also took a nice long pee on it when I was done.

My guess is that they don't want any non-resident dogs pooping and peeing in the grass--but then shouldn't the sign say "No dogs on the grass?" Or even "curb your dog." To make matters even more fuzzy, Dad had asked the co-op board if it was Ok for us to walk there long ago and they said "Sure as long as you pick up after your dog it is fine."

This is an outrage I tell you! We dogs have rights and I get really p-o'd when someone tells me I can pee somewhere one day and then, I can't the next.

I'm going to go to their house with a sign that says, "No idiots allowed" and paste it on the management company's door. Then again if I did that they'd have no employees left.

I hate rain

So Mom and Dad went to the Mets/Yanks game in the afternoon yesterday but promised to take me out for a long time when they got back. True to their word they got home and didn't even take their jackets off--but put my collar and leash and and off we went toward the park.

We went only about half way on our usual route and it started to rain. I hate rain. It makes me want to cry. It gets me all soggy and I smell after being out in it. Dad's nice and he picks me up and puts me in his sweatshirt or jacket when it rains to keep me from getting wet and getting all shivery. Brrrrr.

Oh well...we went home and watched Indiana Jones on DVD. Not a bad way to spend a rainy day and I got to cuddle with both mom and dad and took a nice long nap.
