Motivation

So Mom was doing her Jazzercise DVD at home (you always wondered how she stays so slim) and I decided that while she was doing her sit ups that I would go and sit on her stomach!

That gave me the opportunity to give her face a kiss every time she got to the top! What better motivation could you get to exercise! Do a sit up and get a kiss! Yay! Go Mom Go (Smack)! Feel that burn (slurp!) Just one more (Lick)! Way to go (lick, lick, lick).

Too bad dad wasn't home with the video camera! That was a YouTubable moment!

Don't think I ever told you that...

Dad bought me this cool Rugby Jersey from Australia!

Uncle Paul and Aunt Barb

So Mom and Dad went away for the day for a family beach party (where no dogs were allowed--hmmpf!). So Uncle Paul who has a cool blog himself, came and spent the day with me. We had a fun time, although I played Mr. Lunger and tried to pull him around on our walk. Dad and him had a fun dinner with their friend Kevin in Tarrytown.

Aunt Barbara came over later! Yay! I missed her so much! We played until Mom and Dad came home but I would hide in my crate when she wanted to take me out. Why do I partake in such shenanagans?

Regardless, I feel bad that I never get to see Mom and Dad's nieces and nephews. Everytime they are in town there are no dogs allowed at the place they are going. But hopefully I'll be able to meet them sometime soon. I like both mom and dad's family. Here are some pics of us with both families.

Running in Yonkers

Dad took me to Grandma and Grandpa's house in Yonkers where he grew up. One of my favorite parts of going there is that Dad takes me to the park where he played as a kid and there's a huge field there where he lets me run off-leash. We can't really do that in Queens. I get all tuckered out which I really like. It's a good kind of tired. Mom and Dad get me some nice cool water too when I start to pant. Judge for yourself from the 4 pictures below. Dad said I never looked happier.

I think most old people and drunk people are really angry

So the other night dad passed one of the many Irish bars and saw one of the many women who liked me and stopped us recently. She remarked how cute I was to a guy who was with her. He quipped:

"I'd like to boot him in the arse just to see how far he'd go!"

Now I know I'm a little dog that some folks refer to as "puntable." But that just sounded mean. Dad gave him a look but because it's never smart to argue with a drunk, he just moved on.

So today we went walking and I have to admit I was lunging a lot today. I'm not sure why but I just had this urge to pee on every wall and pole in existance. So we got to a corner and I started to lunge towards the corner bar's wall. Dad pulled back. I lunged again. Dad yanked back. Suddenly I see an old man walking towards us right in our path. So I block his way by lunging. Dad pulls back I pull harder. Dad stops me right in the path of this old codger. He gives dad a look like "Aren't you going to pull him away?"

Dad just holds on to me to let him pass but he won't go around me. After a 5 second staredown the guy blinks and walks around me and makes some inaudible comment and then shakes his head like he can't believe what just happened.

Now at this juncture of the day, Dad is cranky. He's had a rough day and was relaxing by walking me for a long time. And I was not making it easy for him to do that. So this guy is the last straw today and he's not going to take this guy lying down.

The following conversation took place:

Dad: (Takes off his sunglasses) "Excuse me, sir...is there a problem?"

Guy: (with heavy accent) "Yeah, there's a problem. Your dog is in my way and I want to pass and you are standing there doing nothing!"

Dad: "Um...not for nothing but, my dog is about 18 inches long. You COULD just walk around him."

Guy: "Oh yeah? (Puffs chest) Well some dogs, you know, they bite."

Dad: "Well he doesn't!"

Guy: "Just remember you were wrong!"

Dad: "Huh? Whatever. (walks away)

What an angry guy! Obviously he doesn't have a dog to love at home and is therefore deprived. I'm sorry I was taking up so much room on the street. Dad was holding me steady so this moron could pass and we could proceed with the peeing on the far wall.

Regardless, I met a lovely little Asian girl later who told her mom that she was going to buy a dog just like me.

You didn't tell her I was psycho

So Aunt Gloria left me with a friend so she can go back to the office and the friend was charged with walking me. Aunt Glo warned her that I didn't like other dogs or horses and that she should keep me away from them.

So where does she take me? Central Park--cause there are never dogs or horses there.

I go berserk at the first sign of dogs and horses which were, well...everywhere!

She calms me down and then calls Aunt Glo. "You didn't tell me he was PSYCHO."

Aunt Glo just laughs. "Now you know," she said.

OK no offense to anyone...but who's really the psycho? The timid dog, namely ME, or the person who thought that it was a good idea to take me to the park filled with dogs and horses?

I like sleeping in Aunt Glo's bed and she's taking great care of me. I usually fall asleep on her head. My sickness seems to have subsided and I can't wait to see Mom and Dad tomorrow night.

Aunt Gloria

I've been staying with Aunt Gloria--a friend of dad's who he knows from church. Mom and Dad took a week down at the Jersey Shore where I'm not allowed so I got to go and stay with Aunt Glo! I sleep on top of her head which is fun.

I miss Mom and Dad. It seemed like Dad had just gotten home from the land down under and he was gone again. I can't wait until Saturday when they come home and we get to spend their 2nd week of vacation together. No work, no worries---just mom, dad and me.

So I've been a little sick---hence the lack of blogging. I had an upset tummy and I was goose honking again and sneezing. I've got bad allergies and asthma as many of you know(Yes, dogs get asthma). So Dr. Walsh put me on some meds and I seem to be doing better.

Hoping things are going well wherever you may be spending these summer days.
